Ranica Brown

My route into the industry has been an invaluable process of learning and discovery. I have had the chance to develop on the job and gain knowledge from experienced professionals alongside my studies.
I am currently a Senior UX/UI designer at Bloc Digital, Derby. I work on and lead the digital design aspect of projects for multi-national industrial clients.

Through completing a 4-year UX degree apprenticeship I have gained theoretical and practical knowledge in user experience design which has been invaluable to my craft. I look forward to making further contributions to the industry and honing my craft.

Emily Williams

My name is Emily and I work as a Product Designer. At the start of the course I had a design background in Industrial Product Design but I had not worked in Digital UX before. Over the last 4 years I have expanded my experience through working in startup companies as the founding designer and specialising in creating user experiences on iOS, Android, and web platforms. I lead design projects from start to finish, coming up with innovative solutions that both boost user satisfaction and meet business goals. I helped build, launch and maintain features across different platforms, with a focus on data backed, user centred design. My projects all feature a variety of startups within proptech, fashion, sustainability and fitness contexts.

I’m Simon, a senior UX/UI designer and team leader at Apadmi, an app development agency based in Salford Quays. Before joining the DUX Apprenticeship, I had about a year of experience in the corporate sector and a few years as a freelancer, but I lacked formal design education. In my current role, I lead projects from their inception through to product release, contributing to the discovery phase and beyond. I collaborate closely with clients to deliver market-leading products, balancing stakeholder and user needs. Working within a multidisciplinary team, I maintain constant communication with developers and product leads to ensure quality. Although I primarily specialize in iOS design, I also work on Android and Web platforms, leveraging my creative eye and UX expertise to cover the full scope of each project.
